Botak Rou

Just like her brother, we decided to shave Rou and make her a Chinese brush and name stamp. But instead of doing it at four months, we figured two months was a better time for the little girl. I mean, you wouldn't want her without her crowning glory at that late stage right, not to mention the whole world will be mistaking her for a boy.

So we made the appointment and the good people from Hua Xia Tai Mao Bi Centre came to shave her head and get all the transactions done, all in the comfort of our home. We discovered that gabe's name stamp, the one with his umbilical cord wedged inside, was faulty, and promptly returned it to the company for repair.

I reiterate that anything to do with babies is lucrative in nature. We burnt a huge hole in our pockets. But we figured it's something we can leave with them as a token of remembrance when they grow up. Perhaps it's more of a token for the parents than for the kids, since it really reminds us of them when they were mere babes...

Rou was totally cool about the whole thing. No fuss, no tears. It was real smooth. Yeah, her head was too, after the shave.

The before picture.

Now you see it...

now you don't.

"Sob... I hope I still look decent without hair..."

Update in May: Rou's rate of growth (hair) is definitely greater than her brother's.
